Texting Classes
Hub and Spoke Model
Why "Hub and spoke"?
This class is set up so that you, the leader, receive the list of texts and therefore you are the hub. You send it to a group, who are the spokes (like a bicycle tire). If they have any questions, the questions are sent to you and not to me. That way you can keep track of who needs guidance or how understands. But, you can always feel free to email me at marknickens@gmail.com
Welcome to the Bible Texting Class!
I have included brief instructions below, but for a fuller explanation of all three classes, go here
Instructions on using these texting classes
Each text is set up with the following layout:
Answer from the previous text/Lesson with new information/Question which will be answered in the following text.
For example, (this is a made-up text): "A: Jesus chose 12 Apostles/L: Many people admired and spent time with Jesus as he traveled around preaching, teaching, and healing people./Q: How many years did Jesus spend doing his ministry (from baptism to crucifixion)?"
The first part of each text is the answer from the previous text, the second part is the lesson, and the third part is a question (which is answered in the first part of the next text).
Most texts are longer than this, but this is a good example.
These next two links are to test theological knowledge. I have both a two-week texting version or the 10 questions listed. (Some group leaders like to use this list as a separate class just to make sure people understand basic theological ideas.)

- The youth texting class was an amazing experience for me and my students. I would send out the current question in the morning and they would interact with it throughout the day. I found that the students faired better spiritually as a result of having this daily contact with them. Thank you for allowing my students the opportunity to engage the Bible daily through the medium of texting.
