Double Extreme Bible Trivia Test 6: Answers
- What city was Philemon from?
- Colossae. Philemon 1,2: Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother. To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker, to Apphia our sister, to Archippus our fellow soldier and to the church that meets in your home.
Colossians 4:17: Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord.”
So Archippus attended the house church that met in the home of Philemon, and since Achippus lived in Colossae, then Philemon must have lived there as well. (Of course, assuming these two verses refer to the same person.) - Solomon wrote most of Proverbs plus Song of Songs/Solomon and Ecclesiastes. He also wrote a chapter in another biblical book. Which book is that? Extra credit: which chapter is that?
- Psalm 72

- Matthew and Acts

- Which New Testament book is the shortest of all the New Testament books?
- III John
- Out of the following four books in the New Testament that have one chapter apiece, which is the longest? Philemon, II John, III John, Jude
- Jude: Philemon has 335 words, II John has 245 words, III John has 219 words, and Jude has 461 words.
- The book of Acts ends with Paul under house arrest. Most New Testament scholars believe that Paul was eventually released from house arrest and traveled to different places, but ended up in Rome, where he was beheaded. Question: name the one place we know Paul traveled to between being released from house arrest in Rome and returning to Rome to die. Hint: the answer “Spain” is not allowed because we don’t know he went there. But we do know one place he did go to. Where was it?
- The island of Crete. After leaving house arrest in Rome, Paul eventually traveled to Crete with Titus. He then left Titus on Crete but wrote this letter soon afterwards.
- If you arranged the letters of the Old Testament alphabetically, which would come first? Last?

- If you arranged the letters of the New Testament alphabetically, which would come first? Last?
- Acts & Titus
- We know the name of one person who might have died in the flood during the time of Noah, who was that?
- Methuselah. From Genesis 5:25-32 & 6:6: Methuselah was 187 when Lamech was born, he was 369 when Noah was born, and the flood started when Noah was 600 years old, and Methuselah would have been 969 years old. Since Methuselah lived 969 years, then he died in the year of the flood and perhaps in the flood.
